Founder, Frank Shoemaker is credited for naming the company after the system for anchoring nut inserts into the nonusable portion of the disc. Our staff has been analyzing disc-grinding operations and formulating discs since the early 1950's. Today, we are leaders in state-of-the-art formulation and manufacturing of custom abrasives. We supply nut-inserted discs and cylinders to many of the best known manufacturing names in North America. Anchor discs grind a variety of bearings, springs, ceramics, cutlery, hand tools, and automotive parts including connecting rods, valve plates, piston rings, and pump parts.At Anchor Abrasives we specialize in the design and manufacture of resin, epoxy and oxychloride bonded nut-inserted discs and cylinders. We are a highly skilled team that devotes maximum effort in the development, manufacture, and application of this very specialized product. We offer in-house training for your operators, supervisors and engineers on the proper use of our products and can answer questions pertaining to your applications. This training includes abrasive selection, proper mounting, dressing techniques, measuring and gauging, maintenance of coolant and filtration systems, and general trouble shooting. We also work with many highly qualified machinery rebuilders who can do on-site repairs or rebuilds. Parts can be obtained directly through us or one of our affiliates.
