Public. Ltd. Firm Since 1915
Steelcote Manufacturing Company specializes in high-performance coating systems and related products for the industrial plant maintenance market. Therefore, ease-of-application, limited surface preparation and adverse application environments are key product development criteria.
Founded in 1915, Steelcote Manufacturing Company became a position leader in the world development of coatings, sealants and epoxies. Steelcote's compelling force to stay in the front lines of competition has resulted in a number of firsts within the coatings industry. Beginning with Steelcote's first rubber enamel coating in 1926, which became the largest selling automotive brush applied enamel in the world, to the introduction of Damp-Tex, a wet surface enamel that resists molds and fungus and has been used extensively in dairies and breweries, including St. Louis's own Anheuser-Busch. The invention of Floor-Nu in 1962 slated yet another coating industry first as an epoxy-based, aggregate filled concrete floor topping used for protection from acids and other extreme corrosives
The industry's first waterborne epoxy that eliminates flash rusting was none other than Steelcote's Monomid Waterbased Epoxy. And one of Steelcote's most recent and unique applications is Steelcote's Epo-Mastic DTO, which remains today to be the only anti-corrosive coating for concrete and masonry surfaces contaminated with petroleum oil, grease and vegetable oil.
It is Steelcote Manufacturing Company's priority to continually create distinctive products for a variety of environments that prove to be the most durable and cost-effective long-term solution. We take pride in offering one of the broadest ranges of industrial coatings available from a single source. Steelcote serves the food, beverage, dairy, meat packing, chemical processing, aviation, steel, transportation and public utility industries, to name a few. Steelcote provides various coating applications for steel and non-ferrous metals, concrete, masonry, polyester fiberglass, glass, wood and glazed tile surfaces. With our extensive lines of coatings that range from heavy-duty wall and floor coatings, to anti-corrosive coatings and equipment coatings, Steelcote is sure to carry the right coating system for you.
