We, EDDY CURRENT CONTROLS (INDIA) LIMITED is a Public Limited Company established in the year 1971. We pioneered the manufacture of Eddy Current Variable Speed Drives and related control systems in India in collaboration with M/s Yaskawa Electric Mfg. Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan.

The Company has manufacturing facilities at Chalakudy, Kerala and Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. It?s all India customer base for the Variable Speed Drives includes giants in the Private and Public sectors which forms more than 60% of the domestic market. We also export products to Gulf countries, African Countries and Europe.

At present we have more than 40, 000 installations of Eddy Current Variable Speed Drives in different sectors all over India. We are the only manufactures of Water Cooled Eddy Current Drives in India.

We have also a separate casting division for the production of steel and grey iron castings.

Our R&D unit is recognized by Government of India. The innovative abilities of our R&D team have acquired recognition for the following items to our credit.

1. Eddy Current Clutches for Indian Railways - certified by RDSO (Research Design And Standards Organization)

2. Indigenization of Gravimetric Feeder Drives with the help of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirapalli for substituting PIV Drives with Gear Boxes used in Thermal Power Stations. We have supplied numerous 5.5 KW / 2.2 KW Gravimetric / Volumetric Feeder Drives to various projects of BHEL and have been installed in almost all Thermal Power Stations in India for coal feeder applications.

Our customer base include Punjab State Electricity Board, Talcher Super
Thermal Power Plant, Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board, Raichur Thermal Power Station, Kothagudam Thermal Power Station, Chattisgarh State Electricity Board, National Aluminium Company, Bharat Aluminium Company, Hindustan Zinc Limited, Ennore Thermal Power Station, Neyveli Lignite Corporation etc.

3. Drives and Controls for Helicopter Securing And Traversing (HSAT) System for Indian Navy. We are a regular supplier of Drives and Controls for HSAT systems used in Naval War Ships and Frigates through Garden Reach Ship Builders and Engineers Limited, Kolkata and Larsen & Toubro Limited, Chennai. Our Drives and Controls are presently installed on board INS GHARIAL, INS BETWA, INS BEHAS. Shortly commissioning will start on board GRSE YARD 3014, 3015, 3016 and P-17 project of Mazgaon Dock Yard Limited.

4. Variable Speed Drives and Controls for Narmada Sarovar Project.

5. Dyno Brakes and Crane Duty Motors

6. Custom-built Control Panels.

8. Electric Platform Trucks / Stackers

9. Dynamometers for testing Alternators, Electric Motors and IC Engines. Some of the major installations of Alternator Test Bench for Indian Railways are Golden Rock Workshop, Ponmalai, Northern Frontier Railways, Guwahati, Assam and Diesel Loco Works, Erode.

10. SWITCHED RELUCTANCE DRIVES (Granted by Dept. Of Electronics and Technology Development Board, Govt. Of India), which won the National Award for the best Industrial Product in the year 2000.
