Access Control System: The security discipline generically known as access control is populated with more products and systems than Fire, Intruder and CCTV put together. Any device that is part of a product or system allowing persons or vehicles to be controlled at a designated point is considered to be access control. A selection of these devices is: Mechanical, Electric or Motorized Locks, Turnstiles and tube stiles, Mechanical and Electric Gates and Barriers, Mechanical and Electronic Code Locks, Audio and Visual Door Entry Systems
Intruder System: By Intrusion we understand forcible entry, or entry by dishonest means to a restricted area for the purpose of theft, vandalism, or improper use associated with threats, extortion and the resulting consequences. Taken in its broadest sense, intrusion covers all criminal acts. A protection system, therefore, comprises equipment, controls and organizational measures for automatic detection of unauthorized entry, whereby the aim is to detect intrusion as soon as possible and introduce suitable silent or clearly perceptible measures [intervention] to prevent loss.
