Regal Carbide was established in 1983 specializing in grinding of standard, non standard and (special form) carbide inserts. Our experience, technical knowledge and our ability to provide quick and reliable deliveries have enabled Regal Carbide to be competitive for over 15 years.

Our plant is located in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and our customer base is located primarily in Ontario with others located in the United States and Europe.

Specialized needs in the metalworking industry has increased the need for new and specialized equipment to meet the grinding and finishing demands. With this in mind, Regal Carbide continues to upgrade, maintain, and ever improve the equipment within our plant.

Mr. Goy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and worked for Bristol Aerol Company where he acquired his knowledge in the tool and die industry as well as the carbide cutting tool business. In 1966 Mr.Goy was transferred to Fleet Manufacturing in Fort Erie, Ontario where he continued his trade. In 1978 he left Fleet Mfg. To work for the Excello Corporation in Clinton Ontario which their primary function was tool holders and carbide grinding. In 1981 when Excello Corporation closed its Clinton operation Mr. Goy made the decision to put his knowledge and expertise into establishing his own carbide grinding company.

Regal Carbide Tools Limited was founded in St. Catharines, Ontario in August 1983. It started out originally in a small shop on Dunkirk Road but success and growth quickly followed requiring a move to a bigger building.

In 1988, Regal Carbide opened its new facility at 29 Seapark Drive, St Catharines and continues to operate from this location today.

Along with a dedicated and knowledgeable work force, Mr. Goy's vision of quality, reliability and competiveness continues to grow despite Mr. Goy's untimely death in October 1996. Under the leadership of his wife Bernice E. Goy (now President and Owner of Regal Carbide Tools) the company continues with his vision.
