Poeton Industries Ltd is a group of surface coating contracting companies which has operated since 1898, the original founding company being A T Poeton and Son Ltd. We have coating centres at Gloucester and Cardiff in the UK (see location maps for contact details), as well as the specialist technology company Poeton Max Power Inc, USA, providing cylinder bore coatings. Poeton also license processes and provide a consultancy service on coating plant design, installation and operation through its Poeton-Aptec Division in the UK.
We hold several patents for electroplating techniques as well as full approval to process for some of the world's most renowned companies and organisations. These include Airbus (UK), BAE Systems, Goodrich (TWR), Agusta Westlands, Rolls Royce and Smiths Aerospace.
The APTICOTE Philosophy : Poeton market their coating products under the APTICOTE trade name, encompassing the process itself, the component design and material, the operating conditions and the customer requirements. Our approach is to solve the customer's problem, not sell him a process. To this end, Poeton employ a team of skilled sales engineers and technical staff, backed by a computerised selection software package called ISIS.
Our Capabilities : Poeton offer electroplating, anodising, electroless nickel, polymer coatings and thermal spraying. The processes are carried out using plant and tooling designed and manufactured in our own extensive workshops. Depending on the process, we can handle components from 6 grams to 60 tonnes and provide all the necessary machining, grinding and super-finishing techniques.
Poeton hold the following accreditations; BS EN ISO 9001-2000, CAA and MOD, and we provide individual coatings which meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace, defence, advanced automotive (including Formula One), medical, food and space industries.
