Kays Engineering, Inc. Located in Marshall, Mo. U.S.A., was founded in 1980 by current owner and company president, Ed Kays. As the business grew from a one man welding & machine shop, our capabilities increased as well. We began specializing in the design and build of custom automated manufacturing equipment. Some of our first customers for this equipment were Kelsey - Hayes in Detroit, Michigan and Eaton Corporation of Kearney, Nebraska. In the beginning, our personnel did a wide spectrum of work, including prototype machining, short-run production, and complete turnkey design and build projects. Kays Engineering, Inc. Has also maintained that standard of excellence in the deep hole drilling industry since acquisition of the DeHoff Company in June of 1994. DeHoff was originally located in Cranston, Rhode Island and has since been moved to our world headquarters in Marshall, Mo. USA. Through the development of DeHoff, new applications with a variety of hole depths and part configurations were discovered. DeHoff was involved in the original development of a .055" and .078" drill. The company has also manufactured machines with a capacity of drilling holes over 5" in diameter, using the ejector drilling concept. Customers of DeHoff Gundrilling machines include Harley-Davidson, Chevrolet, GE, Chrysler, Saturn, Chevrolet Pontiac Canada and many others.
