Drawing on his own experiences as a well-service contractor, running more than 13 rigs, Oscar Taylor founded Taylor Rigs in 1978. His dream was to design and manufacture a simple, straight forward rig, which was both easy to maintain and economical to operate.

On July 15, 1978 the first Taylor Rig was delivered, and a dream was realized. Since that day, Taylor Rigs has delivered more than 400 drilling, workover, and well-servicing rigs, establishing a reputation for providing our customers with the latest in innovative technology and an uncompromising dedication to quality and value.

Advancements such as all-hydraulic drawworks, disc brake systems, and hydraulic top head and table drive rotary systems have kept Taylor on the cutting edge of technology. In addition to our state of the art designs, we have also applied the Taylor philosophy to our more conventional rig designs. Our band brake drawworks are 18% lighter and have more than 40 fewer moving parts than previous designs. Our outboard clutch system provides strong consistent line pull, while providing unprecedented maintenance access. All in all, Taylor's full line of drilling and well-service equipment represents the ultimate in simplicity, performance, and value.
