We are a design, engineering, and manufacturing company, located in Boulder, Colorado, that provides mechanical systems to the aerospace industry.
Founded in 1986, we have developed a reputation for outstanding performance, providing mechanical systems, structures, and mechanisms that open, close, release, and move components on a spacecraft. We are known as the company to go to for motion-control actuators, cover systems, deployment systems, and separation systems.
Starsys Research Corporation has opened a new facility in Durham, North Carolina. This expansion reflects the tremendous growth Starsys has experienced in the electro-mechanical products area. Since Starsys merged with the American Technology Consortium in 2000, the company has fast become a leading supplier of motors, gearboxes, and actuators, as well as Solar Array Drive Assemblies (SADAs), Antenna Pointing Mechanisms (APMs), and other integrated mechanical systems.
From initial concept through flight certification, our facility has the machine shops, clean rooms, and environmental testing areas required for the specific demands of the aerospace industry. Our mechanisms have flown on more than 200 spacecraft, with 100 percent operational success.
