Akar was formed in 1986. The company belongs to a group of companies having sales turnover of Rs. 9.0 crores (USD 2.0 million) as at the end of 2002. A board of directors consisting of competent engineers and professionals and a successful businessman heads AKAR. Today Akar has its own two offices one of which is out side India, one assembly shop and two associated manufacturing plants for equipment and vessels, 8 offices of its associate companies all over India and out side.
Through these production centers and outlets, Akar serves its esteemed clients. Akar covers a wide range of products in the fields of water and environmental engineering, offers consultancy services and provides support services. These support services include erection and commissioning services, on site heavy steel fabrication and structural jobs, operation and maintenance of plants supplied by Akar for some length of time or for a longer period, as desired by client. Akar even offers operation and maintenance services for those plants not supplied by Akar. Akar has its own designing, manufacturing and assembling facility at Noida near New Delhi in India apart from two additional associate production and fabrication shops.

The company provides consultancy, manufactures equipment and executes Turn Key Projects in the field of Waste Water / Sewage treatment, Water treatment and Municipal Solid Waste Composting Plants. * A Longitudinal Mechanical Scraper in operation. * A rotating comb type mechanical bar screen in operation. * Dissolved air floatation system supplied to a leading vegetable oil processing company to separate emulsified oil from waste water. * A sludge floatation thickener in operation. This is a device to reduce sludge volume by increasing sludge density. WASTE WATER TREATMENT :- Mobile Waste Water Treatment systems, Packaged Akar Dynamic Bio-Reactor Systems, Surface Aerators, Floating Aerators, Mixers / Agitators, All types of Screens, Diffused Aeration Systems, Sludge Thickeners, Filter Presses, Clarifiers Mechanisms, All Types of Scrapers, Oil Removal Systems, Iron Removal Systems, Dissolved Air Floatation systems.
