MAX-L (Multimode Automatic Exchange ? Large)- a single Central Module (CM-L) supports a maximum of 16 Base Modules. The base modules in addition to the co-located mode can be remotely located to serve as Remote switch Unit (RSU), which supports man-machines interface from local as well as centralised positions. The traffic capacity is 1,30,000 BHCA with a termination capacity of 10,000 subscriber lines and 3,000 trunks or 6,400 trunks only. These exchanges have application in urban areas.
